Sumeruchandra Divakar was among the topmost lay scholars of Jainism in the 20th century. He wrote with equal command in both Hindi and English. Known for his

deep unchakeable faith in Ācārya Śāntisāgara, he wrote an eloquent biography of his guru entitled "Cāritra Cakravartī".

 

He has written several books on Jain philosophy, religion, epistemology, ontology and on related subjects such as Sallekhanā.
